This site contains information to help you use Blackboard (Bb) and be successful in your online learning experience. View the material below to determine if online learning is right for you?

To be successful as an online learner you should:

  •  meet all technical requirements for the course

  •  be comfortable using computers and the Internet

  •  have good planning and organizational skills

  •  be capable of working independently

  •  be able to meet deadlines

Ten Tips for successful online learning

  1. Determine your login information.

  2. Know how to access your Blackboard course/s.

  3. Check your Bb course site frequently for announcements and updates.

  4. Develop a time management plan.  Allow time for reviewing course materials and completing assignments. Set this time aside specifically for your course.

  5. Stick to your time plan.

  6. Allow time for technical problems.  Plan ahead so that technical problems do not cause you to miss a deadline.

  7. Read and follow your instructor's instructions carefully.

  8. Become an active learner.  Evaluate sources.  Think critically.

  9. Utilize Blackboard support resources as tutorials, manuals, quick tips, help desk services.

  10. Stay focused and enjoy your course!
